I have a cactus cutting that may be rotting but im not sure should i cut it off and let it re callus?

so what i did was i had a clean cut and then it dried over about two days so i planted it in dry dirt but only for like two days before i found out that wasn't enough time to let it callus and im not sure if it started to rot ill try to post some pics if i can please help
