How to store a computer?

im going to florida for college and am planning to bring my alienware PC with me. since the school kicks me out in the summer, i need to find a place to store my computer instead of lugging it around with me. will my computer get fried by the florida heat if i leave it in a box,locked in a storage room? or is a climatized storage room the only viable option to not destroy my expensive machine?
